Actually, we were avoiding looking for a boat out of the US mainly because many people told us horror stories about going to other countries, principally to the Caribbean, chasing for boats. However, we were sick and tired from brokers in the US that misrepresented the boats they were offering or were trying to make us pay a ridiculous amount of money for boats that were in miserable conditions.
I must recognize that I had a lot of doubts about spending time and money going to Saint Marteen to see what Montaine was offering to us but I’m glad I did it. All the boats she has talked about were there ready for inspection and the most important; everything that Montaine said to us by phone was perfectly accurate. The good things and bad things of every boat she had in her listing were detailed to us before I went to Saint Martin. Furthermore, when I decided to buy one of her listing, a beautiful Lagoon 41 in pristine conditions which was above my budget, she made everything possible to facilitate the business. One interesting detail, the seller had bought the boat with her 2 years before and was coming back to her to sell it.
We will not hesitate to recommend Montaine as a friendly and ethical broker that can be trusted when she speaks about a boat. We are now living onboard of a nice Lagoon 410S2 year 2003 owner version thanks to her help and dedication.
